Romulans

Humanoid civilization of warriors, from the planets Romulus and Remus.
Originally part of the Vulcan people, they abandonned their life of discipline and peace for passion and unruliness.
They've spent centuries thereafter in intermittant periods of isolation and war with their neighbors
. Romulans are related to the Vulcans. Very passionate and honorable, they left planet Vulcan nearly a millennium ago.
This was probably in rebellion against Surak's philosophy of logic and pacifism,
which later became the foundation of Vulcan society.
Romulans are very emotional, and are capable of displaying a spectrum of feelings.
They have known to be passionate and adoring, as well as vengeful and ruthless.
The Romulan Star Empire is led by the the Praetor. In interstellar relation, Romulans favor to fight than talk
. War errupted between Romulans the Earth foces in the 2160's, which led to the establishment
of the United Federation of Planets and the Romulan Neutral Zone.
The neutral zone was not violated until 2266, when a Romulan ship entered Federation space as a test.
Romulans entered into a brief alliance with the Klingon Empire in 2268, during which point
both sides exchanged technologies and weapons.
Romulans isolated themselves in 2311, only to return in 2364, when early signs of Borg activity were detected.
Romulans have for a long time attempted to destabilize the Klingon government. In 2367, a Romulan operative
named Sela allied herself with the Duran family of the Klingons in an attempt to keep
control of the Klingon Empire from Gowron.
In the late 2360's, a movement in the Romulan citizenry was started to try to reunify themselves with their Vulcan relatives.
The Romulan government heard of this movement, they tried to use it as a cover to take over planet Vulcan
. The invasion was stopped by Starfleet. Federation Ambassador Spock
chose to remain undercover on Romulus to continue work toward reunification.
When the Dominion entered the Alpha Quadrant in 2372, the Romulans were quick to react.
They staged an attack on the Founders' homeworld with the Cardassians on-side, but lost to the Jem'Hadar.
When the Dominion infiltrated many Alpha Quadrant governments, and then annexed Cardassian space the next year,
the Romulans quickly realized the power of the Founders.
The Empire forged a non-agression pact with the Dominion, allowing Jem'Hadar ships passage through Romulan space.
This all ended in 2375, when the Federation revealed a Dominion plot to backstab the Romulans
with led them to join the Federation/Klingon alliance.
Romulans took heavy damage in the Dominion War, losing more than both the Federation and Klingon forces combined.
Vulnerability to Breen weaponry made Romulan vessels especially suseptable.
But the alliance emerged victorious, and the reconstruction is currently underway.
